Well, at least someone is.

As Teen Wolf: The Movie weathers the storm of fan criticism over plot holes and iconic couples breaking up, Tyler Posey is trying to calm the waters for audiences.

Although the last season of Teen Wolf established Posey's Scott and Shelley Hennig's Malia as a couple, the movie suddenly dumped the romance and never really explained why. Posey, however, seems perfectly fine with the ruined Scalia.

"I would have been more surprised if they were together," Posey told TVLine. "I think they were really cute and fun and sweet, and they complemented each other well. But Scott is a hopeless romantic, and he couldn't fully move on to someone else [after Allison]. I'm sure that got in the way of he and Malia's relationship."

However, not all fans agree with the actor. According to many people, the movie "passes Malia around like a book" by having her change partners, and "bad writing" is to blame.

"I know the reason: they wrote the names of the characters on paper, put them all in a bowl and drew them out," Redditor mala_r1der suggested.

Fans believe Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis "just doesn't have a use for Malia," which is why he treated her character this way in the movie. The movie establishes her with Parrish; and while fans try not to hate the character, they just can't get their heads around Malia and Parrish being together.

"Jeff Davis and his fetish for Scott and Allison overpowers everything, why couldn't he keep Scott and Malia? Why couldn't they both be single?" Redditor HerOnlyLegacy wondered.

Teen Wolf: The Movie is available for streaming on Paramount Plus.
