Two Ways Tony Stark Could Be Brought Back in 'Multiverse of Madness'

So, 'Endgame'-level surprises in 'Multiverse of Madness', you say.

Following the rumors that we should expect something absolutely jaw-dropping in 'Multiverse of Madness', many people have jumped at the idea of Iron Man possibly returning to the big screen.

And not necessarily by resurrecting him. After all, it's the multiverse, where everything is possible, as long as there is an "alternative timeline" disclaimer.

So, is there a chance that we could see Tony in the 'Doctor Strange ' sequel?

Superior Iron Man

As we said, bringing Iron Man back does not mean it would be the Iron Man portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. that we all know and love. Reports suggesting that 'Multiverse of Madness' might feature an Iron Man variant played by Tom Cruise have emerged online a long time ago. It is still unclear how plausible his appearance in the 'Doctor Strange' sequel is.

This would be a nice nod to reality, where Tom Cruise was once considered to be the one to portray Tony Stark before the studio ultimately decided to go with RDJ, but looks like OG Iron Man fans were clearly against it.

Zombie Iron Man

According to the 'Multiverse of Madness' trailer, Doctor Strange will face his own zombie variant – or at least something that looks like it. Given that Marvel has its own comic series about superhero zombies, it's understandable why fans think Iron Man could appear as a living dead in a movie that is being touted as MCU 's first "horror".

But given that we saw an homage to Zombie Iron-Man in 'Spider-Man: Far From Home', this option is far less likely to turn out to be true.

Besides, when asked to address the rumors about Tony Stark somehow coming back in 'Multiverse of Madness', producer Richie Palmer downplayed them.

"As you saw in Spider-Man: No Way Home, some rumors ended up being true, some did not…I would love to see Tony again, but some rumors are just rumors," he said.

Well, we'll see about that on May 6, won't we?
