It's not so easy to be someone you're not. But that's the thing about being an actor, right?

The Twilight Saga has become a fan favorite for many reasons. Since the premiere of the first movie in 2008, young people all over the world have become obsessed with the story and the characters.

Of course, most of the attention was focused on the main couple of the franchise, Edward and Bella. Their couple quickly became almost a role model for teenage girls, who started to behave like Bella in order to catch someone Edward-like.

But the two lovebirds weren't the only ones who caught the attention of the fans. The audience was also interested in almost every other member of the cast.

Well, that's no wonder, because it's not every day that you get a movie with a whole cast of extremely beautiful people.

One of them is Rosalie, the most attractive blonde of the franchise, played by Nikki Reed. Her appearance was described in detail in the original books by Stephenie Meyer. So the dark-haired Nikki had to match the image of Rosalie from the book.

In the Twilight movie she had to bleach her hair. And it was actually a disaster for the actress. The bleaching process had a lot of unhealthy consequences.

Not only did her hair have to match her character, but her skin and overall appearance had to match as well.

As Nikki told the Times Union, playing Rosalie came with a lot of pressure, both on set and off. As it was revealed, it took over 30 hours to fully transform Reed into a member of the Cullen clan.

But she did it all so the fans could see how dedicated she was to the role.

But after the first movie, she decided that wearing a wig was actually a better idea than proving herself to the fans by losing her natural hair to bleaching.

And while there were of course some fans who shared concerns about the wigs in general, they also agreed that it was the only thing they could do to save her health.

"Yeah, honestly none of the wigs were very good. But despite all of that, I'm glad they gave her a wig from the second movie on. She revealed in an interview that she had to bleach her head (and skin, how messed-up is that) almost every other day.

Plus the initial hair transformation took 36 hours and made her hair fall out. Which is just crazy," Redditor yoomiii123 said.

But that was all years ago. Since then, it's good to know that Reed has developed a healthier relationship with her image. Instead of sacrificing herself for a role, she now chooses to show her own perspective in the film.
