Top 5 Worst Young Sheldon Characters, Ranked by Reddit
Young Sheldon has a lot of likable characters who have had plenty of development over the seasons. However, some Medford citizens seem to be there just to annoy us.
Reddit users took it upon themselves to compile a list of their least favorite characters from the show and rank them accordingly.
5. Sheldon Cooper
It's a tad bit surprising to see the titular character on here, but Sheldon has earned his place fair and square.
Over the seasons, we have been (un)lucky to see him grow into a more obnoxious and condescending version of himself from the earlier seasons.
Now we understand how he gets to the point of Sheldon circa TBBT's season 1. Come on, you can be a genius and a nice person at the same time. Someone teach Sheldon that, please?
4. Jana Boggs
Jana is by far the worst girlfriend that Georgie has ever had up to this point. She starts out strong, but things quickly go downhill.
Georgie and Jana's relationship is even sweet at one point, but the way she breaks up with him has rubbed many fans the wrong way.
Georgie drops out of school – not because of drugs or criminal life, but because of work – and she just ends things like he has never mattered to her. Just wrong!
3. Paige Swanson
Another character that the writers have completely ruined for us. Conceived as an equal and a rival to Sheldon, Paige just becomes this bland rebellious girl that no one really sympathizes with.
Yes, life has hit her hard, but the creators have just missed the mark in fully executing why we should feel for her. At the end of the day, Paige is just a disappointing shell of a character she could have been. Bummer.
2. Pastor Jeff
Pastor Jeff is a sweetheart in the earlier seasons, successfully getting us into religion and whatnot. Later on, he turns into a judgmental hypocrite who represents everything that is wrong with radical fanatics of any sort.
He doesn't support Mary when she desperately needs it, he doesn't listen to reason, and he just acts the opposite of how a true Christian should.

1. Dale Ballard
Fans are not amused by this character at all. Dale is always grumpy for no reason, he doesn't have any interesting storylines, and he has encouraged Georgie to drop out of school and hook up with older women.
Also, he is simply not good enough for Meemaw. People genuinely don't understand what she sees in him, especially after Dr. Sturgis. Well, that is probably an overcorrection on Meemaw's part. We've all been there.
