The John Wick franchise was initially planned to consist of five movies. As we're sure you're well aware, this never happened, and the recent John Wick 4 admittedly ended the franchise by killing off Keanu Reeves 's character. But still, there's hope.
There are many reasons to expect a fifth entry.
The franchise does incredibly well at the box office; the audience loves it; the spin-offs proved to be just as successful; and finally, the director doesn't feel content with such a premature ending to his work.
It's only a matter of convincing the studio and Keanu to keep going, most likely — and John Wick's death could be easily avoided with a classic workaround.
Chad Stahelski has his eyes on the prize, there's no doubt about that. The director has stated that he wanted to continue the franchise, and he thought about it a lot.
So much, in fact, that he even has a shortlist of the Hollywood stars he wants to have in the fifth entry!

Stahelski revealed that he's been a fan of Murphy's talent for years now and would love to have him in John Wick 5. "I just think Cillian would fit right in," said Stahelski.

It would be impossible to recall all his roles as there are just too many of them, but Stahelski wants to add one more to the list, personally. The director called Farrell nothing short of "fantastic."

Ever since first seeing the movie, the director has been in awe of Theron's talent and wanted to work with her no matter what.

Famous for her action movies, Michelle recently won an Oscar for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Her action experience would've definitely fit in the John Wick franchise, and Stahelski has actually already worked with her in a commercial… And "has been dying to work with her ever since", as he shared.
The man, the myth, the legend, Robert Downey Jr. needs no introduction: even his Twitter profile simply says "You know who I am" instead of the classical "Actor, director, husband, and proud father."
There's no wonder Robert is one of Stahelski's top picks for the last John Wick entry — the actor makes any movie he's in better.
Apart from these five, Chad Stahelski also revealed that he was a massive fan of Game of Thrones and would've loved to work with many of the show's actors.
For the John Wick movie, though, he specifically wants Peter Dinklage and Sean Bean.
Even apart from his love for GoT, the director claimed that he "would die for a chance with any of those people."
