The fan-beloved Spider-Man actor just finished work on his brand new show, and it took a heavy toll on him... Admittedly, it was in vain.

Tom Holland 's mostly perceived as the cute and quirky guy who plays Spider-Man, but the actor's ambitions obviously lie far beyond that.

Holland is doing his best to improve his portfolio with various projects, but it hasn't been particularly fruitful so far: most of his works outside of Marvel never found much love from either critics or fans.

We all witnessed the painful struggle that Tom's Chaos Walking and Dolittle came out to be. Those were surely not the actor's proudest achievements...

But we couldn't have imagined that Holland would produce something that would receive even more terrible reviews.

The new Apple TV show The Crowded Room is a distinct work for Tom Holland in more than one way. First, it's his debut as a producer; second, it's his first lead role in a series.

These two factors already make The Crowded Room a massive milestone for Holland, but unfortunately, the show has also set his new personal record, and not a positive one.

As of now, The Crowded Room has a critic rating of just 18% on Rotten Tomatoes, and that's after the sudden ten-percent surge; just yesterday, the Tomatometer showed 8%.

This made The Crowded Room the new worst-received work in Tom Holland's career.

Critics call the story "dragged-out" and "lethargic," the characters "one-dimensional" and "easily forgotten," the dialogue "lazy," and the show itself "a surprising misfire from Apple." Not the proudest set of reviews, is it?

Considering how awful the show was for Tom Holland's mental health, it seems like this whole escapade wasn't worth it.

The actor claimed that The Crowded Room "broke" him, and now he's taking a one-year break from acting, which postpones his next Marvel entry further... And there are pretty much zero positive aspects there by far.

Fortunately, Tom Holland's got his whole career still ahead of him, and he'll likely be able to cover up for this failure.

Unfortunately, the traumatizing Room turned out to be an utter disappointment and somehow came out even worse than Tom's Dolittle... Which most thought impossible.
