Tom Cruise's Mind-Blowing Helicopter Appearance At 'Top Gun 2' Premiere Leaves Fans Shocked
Looks like Tom Cruise is once again being Tom Cruise – the Hollywood heavyweight stunned his fans by appearing at the premiere of 'Top Gun: Maverick' aboard a military helicopter.
The upcoming sequel to Tony Scott's 1986 'Top Gun' will center on the life of Pete Mitchell 36 years later, and the younger generation of pilots (Miles Teller, Glen Powell ) will receive words of wisdom from the legendary pilot-turned-instructor. First reviews of the film promise a wild ride, replete with impossible stunts, thrilling action and real emotional drama.
Ah yes, about them stunts. Cruise, a certified pilot himself, did all the stunts without a body double again, flying real military aircraft and skydiving. Looks like the 'Mission Impossible ' star decided to please his fans once again – at the recent San Diego premiere of the film, the 59-year-old actor literally landed in a helicopter in front of the crowd to make his grand entrance on the red carpet.
Even though Cruise didn't fly the aircraft himself, he still received a lot of praise from his fans, who applauded him for his rather original entrance.
However, some fans were not impressed, ridiculing Cruise for once again making the situation all about himself.
'Top Gun: Maverick' flies into theatres on May 27, 2022.
