At just 8 years old, Alex Owens-Sarno could never have imagined being recognized by people all over the world, but this is exactly what happened after she starred alongside stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in Titanic.

The romantic drama directed by James Cameron captivated audiences with the tragic, forbidden love story of Jack and Rose, unfolding aboard the ill-fated Titanic on its maiden voyage.

The movie was a critically acclaimed success and rocketed Winslet and DiCaprio to Hollywood stardom.

The recognition that came with Titanic was a lot for Alex to deal with at her young age, and even then she knew that probably no other role she may land in the future could compare to what she had on Titanic.

Luckily, this didn't deter her from pursuing a career in the film industry.

Audiences met the bright-eyed Cora and her hair full of curls for the first time when Jack brought Rose down to a party with his fellow third-class passengers.

The atmosphere was warm and fun, filled with music and drinking and laughter, which was very different from Rose's first-class experience above them.

During this scene, Cora was Jack's dancing partner, and he twirled the young girl around to her delight, referring to her as "his best girl."

This was certainly one of the happiest and most memorable moments aboard the ship sailing towards disaster, and the point of envy for so many fans of DiCaprio, who could only dream of him spinning them around the same way he did Cora.

The young actress was spotted by chance and offered the role by casting director Mali Finn whilst she was attending auditions with her mother and sister.

She fondly recalls her time spent filming, mostly her interactions with the cast and crew of Titanic, remembering a young DiCaprio taking time to talk to her and other children on the cast, playing with them and making them laugh.

Today "Cora" is all grown up, and at 34 years old is still happily responding to fans requesting signed photos of her in Titanic.

Despite so many years having passed between today and her time on the movie she still has the same noticeable features, her dark curly hair, and her captivating, round eyes.

Nowadays her hair is shorter and often straightened, but still one of her most recognizable features, and although the attention has died down significantly, she still gets approached by strangers who recognize her.

She has undeniably grown into a stunning young woman, and plans to continue furthering herself in the film industry, having started her own company "Sundae Knights Productions."
