Tired of MCU? Try These Forgotten Comic Book Movies from the 2000s
For the last decade or so, comic book movies have been the most popular type of blockbuster in Hollywood, with franchises like the MCU and DCEU responsible for a large part of the box office successes of that time.
Still, comic book movies have been around for a long time, and we decided to pick 10 of the best ones that came out in the 2000s but were somehow underrated by the general public.
While you've certainly heard about the comic book origins of "Sin City," "V for Vendetta " and "Persepolis," we'll bet you didn't even think that such iconic movies as "The Road to Perdition" and "Oldboy" were actually based on comic books!
Back in the 2000's, movie producers were really willing to take a risk when it came to choosing a comic book to adapt to the big screen, and not just choose the same tired Marvel characters to lead huge blockbusters.
However, the time for comic book movies is certainly passing, as more and more people are describing new Marvel and DC movies as painfully mediocre and refusing to even see new movies. Perhaps Hollywood will soon return to adapting indie comics and produce more gems like the ones on this list.
