Even good looks didn’t save him from being canceled by the fans.

The Office is a show that has many core characters, and the series' dynamic actually depends on their relationships. The employees of the Scranton branch of the Dunder Mifflin paper company are quite unique in their personalities. Each one of them is quite a handful and adds a lot to the overall story of the show.

But aside from the main group of people, there were a lot of side characters who also helped make the show an iconic cultural phenomenon. Most of them were there for comic relief and added a lot of hilarious moments to the show. Although there were still some who did nothing but annoy the fans.

One such character was Charles Miner, who was introduced to the show in season 5. He was hired by the company to replace Ryan as Vice President of Sales after he was fired for the crimes he committed.

Although Miner was played by one of Hollywood's most handsome actors, Idris Elba, it didn’t help his character to become a fan favorite. It was obvious that the office would hate him too, as Charles didn’t fit in the Scranton branch at all.

“He was a bully who created a hostile work environment and was not even good at the job. Appointing Kevin to the phones, Stanley as a "Productivity Czar", Dwight as a go to. He made a branch that was performing well and was proven to thrive WITHOUT a manager struggling worse than all the other branches due to his incompetence interacting with his coworkers and subordinates,” Redditor Cstanchfield said.

But that's not all. Fans were also annoyed by the fact that Charles, despite trying to appear tough and serious, was still a suck-up who was so desperate to win Wallace's approval that he ended up making a fool of himself.

The Office rarely had fans annoyed, but Elba’s character somehow managed to do it. If you feel like revisiting season 5 (as well as the rest of the seasons), go stream The Office on Peacock right now.
