This The Boys Character’s Death in S4 Is Much More Real Than You Think
Although he may appear to be in the safe zone, he is actually in more danger than you might expect.
Summary:
- The Boys introduced a lot of characters over the course of three seasons, many of whom died horribly
- As the show heads into its fourth season, fans are placing their bets on who will meet their end this time around
- However, while one particular character death may seem almost impossible, it is far more real than you might think
Since its debut in 2019, The Boys TV series has significantly expanded its world, introducing viewers to countless memorable characters.
Of course, due to the brutal nature of the show, some of them have met their demise, sometimes in completely unexpected ways, shocking fans who have grown accustomed to them.
As the show heads into its fourth season, many viewers are expecting the stakes to be raised and more gruesome deaths to occur.
But while no character is 100% safe, some have a much better chance of surviving than others, and Ryan Butcher, portrayed by Cameron Crovetti, is one such case.
Ryan Will Be Crucial to the Story of Season 4
The son of Rebecca Butcher and Homelander himself, Ryan has undergone a lot of development over the course of the second and third seasons, and will undoubtedly play a major role in the events of season 4 after returning to his biological father.
Many fans expect him to be instrumental in defeating Homelander and eventually become a better version of his father after learning just how deranged he really is.
Others, however, are not so optimistic and believe that he may become even worse than the psychotic supe and has a much higher chance of dying than one might have thought.
In the final episode of season 3, we saw him smiling after Homelander murdered a Starlight follower with his heat vision, so Ryan may indeed fall deeper into darkness and possibly even replace his dad as the main villain.
His Death Could Send Homelander off the Rails
Still, it is much more likely that he would be killed by accident, perhaps even by his own father, which would fit perfectly with Homelander's character arc.
Throughout his life, John has had nice things taken away from him, which is what made him so despicable in the first place, so if he loses his son after just starting to experience fatherhood (albeit in a perverted way), it could change everything.
Homelander already mentioned that he would go on a worldwide massacre and kill billions if he had nothing left to lose, so Ryan's death could be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
Either way, fans will eventually learn the truth in the upcoming season, or maybe a little later if the show is renewed for more.
The first three episodes of The Boys season 4 will premiere on June 13, 2024.
