This Sex and the City Character Had Zero Development, Even the Spinoff Didn’t Help
How is it even possible to stay the same after going through so much?
Sex and the City is a perfect female-led show that brilliantly shows us all the powerful traits as well as the deepest flaws of women. With the help of Charlotte, Miranda, Samantha, and Carrie as the main quartet and the core characters of the show, we learn what life can be like for an independent woman desperately searching for love.
Throughout the six seasons of the show, we actually saw some kind of personal growth for each of them. But it seems like the spinoff And Just Like That simply threw that all out the window.
The one character who may have learned absolutely nothing from her past life choices and multiple mistakes was Carrie. You would think that a woman in her fifties would be able to understand something and not be a child? But no, that's not the case with our Carrie.
Especially when we see how she still treats the men who come into her life. It seems that Carrie is addicted to drama and if everything is okay in her relationship, then it is just not worth it. Sound familiar? That was actually the reason why her relationship with Aidan didn't work out in the first place.
This time, in And Just Like That, she just turns the tables and decides it's time to throw away everything great she can have by being a free woman and starts desperately chasing her past. And fans are just tired of a main character like that. Especially since she had so many chances to change her life for the better.
“She could have had the podcast guy or bicycle guy. There was objectively nothing wrong with those guys and both were way more attractive and charismatic than country lurch (imo.) But it's just like Carrie to go back to an ex-boyfriend from 20 years ago after all this time. Zero growth or development,” Redditor labellavita1985 said.
Needless to say, the fandom has high hopes for season 3 and is secretly dreaming that Aidan will never come back. Well, fingers crossed...
