A sweet spin-off of the familiar universe.

Dream Productions, a spin-off of Disney and Pixar's cult film Inside Out, consists of four dynamic short episodes, each of which takes you deeper into Riley's mind.

In the format of a pseudo-documentary shot in the spirit of The Office, we meet Paula, a veteran Dream director who many years ago made the main hit – a story about saying goodbye to a pacifier and toys for little ones.

What Is Dream Productions About?

Paula notes that she owes a lot to her personal assistant, Janelle, who helps her get her dream work done on time and efficiently. But as Paula plans a new hit, Janelle realizes that she is tired of being just an assistant.

When she unexpectedly passes the competition for a new director and leaves Paula, a young and eccentric Xeni appears on the horizon, who prefers to throw away scripts and go from the pavilions to the streets to film real life.

Unfortunately for him, it is he who is appointed by studio head Jean as the new assistant to Paula, who still prefers to stick to traditional methods.

Dream Productions Is a Hilarious Take on Hollywood

Riley's dream world is rich in detail. It is home to masters of various genres – from comedy shorts to the most terrifying horror films. Dream movies are regularly nominated for prestigious awards, and the best directors get the most lavishly appointed offices and soundstages.

Showrunner Mike Jones offers a classic Hollywood take on the dream studio, with veteran directors clinging to their early hits and young filmmakers trying to inject freshness and novelty into tired stories.

Dream Productions Features Characters from Inside Out

For those missing the characters at the center of Riley's management while waiting for Inside Out 3, there's good news – they make brief appearances to observe Riley's dreams or step in when the studio is in crisis.

However, there are no new characters from Inside Out 2 – the miniseries is probably sandwiched between the first and second films, meaning that Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui haven't quite made their way into the hub yet.

Dream Productions Is a Perfect Series for Fans of the Franchise of All Ages

In Dream Productions you will find a large number of references to both feature films of the universe and real Hollywood personalities. Most of the references will probably only be understood by an adult familiar with the workings of the industry – for young viewers, not all of the jokes will be funny.

However, this will not prevent a viewer of any age who is interested in the Inside Out universe from enjoying the movie and having a pleasant evening in the company of their favorite characters.
