This Meme Nails Philosopher's Stone Biggest Plot Hole in a Nutshell

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was released more than twenty years ago, and it still inspires fans to debate the plot and create countless memes in the process.

We found one such meme that appears to poke fun at one of the biggest plot holes in the original film.

First things first: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry cannot be described as the safest environment in which to educate your children.

In fact, it is quite the opposite. We don't recall many Muggle schools having a Forbidden Forest nearby, populated by carnivorous spiders the size of a large dog.

Or aggressive merpeople in a local lake, intent on drowning unlucky students. Or a particularly nasty tree that beats the life out of anyone foolish enough to sit and rest by its roots.

The school grounds themselves are not much safer. The students are given a wonderful choice of whose dinner they are going to be: a giant three-headed dog, a basilisk, or a dragon, the latter carefully provided by the school itself.

And don't even get us started on Quidditch, one of the most dangerous sports in fiction, in which literal kids dodge a ball enchanted for one purpose — to knock them out in mid-air.

And students are actively encouraged to participate. A perfect place to send your kid, if you ask us.

But all of this pales in comparison to the most "brilliant" decision of the school's headmaster, Albus Dumbledore.

First, to protect Harry Potter from Lord Voldemort, he leaves his student with his abusive relatives, making his future student's life a living hell.

And then, with full knowledge of Voldemort's hunt for Harry, he literally employs Quirinus Quirrell, who was possessed by the Dark Lord, and later promotes him to Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts the same year Harry enrolls at Hogwarts.

"Hogwarts is the safest place" indeed. Some fans are starting to suspect that the "Dumb" part in Dumbledore is not as coincidental as it seems.
