If you have an access to the Internet and have been around for at least few years, you must’ve heard of the iconic anime Death Note, based on a Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, and Twilight, another franchise popularized back in mid 2000s.

Though two series seemingly don’t have anything in common, there is something that unites them both. A mystical and deadly element that makes both stories so intriguing and gets the viewers immediately hooked. Though both the animated story, and the movie franchise have long ended, the fans still can’t let it go, coming with more headcanons and fiction.

While there isn’t a chance of any media coming even close to either Death Note or Twilight in the eyes of the die-hard fans, there is something that may catch your attention. It is the time to give a chance to Korean dramas.

What The Game: Towards Zero Is About?

Released back in 2020, The Game: Towards Zero is an MBC TV production starring Ok Taec-yeon, Lee Yeon-hee and Lim Ju-hwan. The show follows the investigation of a serial killer, which leads the characters to some unexpected revelations about their own past and future.

The main character, Kim Tae-pyeong, has a special prophet-like ability that allows him to see exactly how the person in front of him will die by looking into their eyes. This ability makes him very valuable to the police, where he helps investigate a kidnapping by the notorious Midnight Killer.

Even though his ability has never let him down, Tae-pyeong's world is turned upside down when he meets detective Seo Joon-yeong. She is the first person whose death he cannot see, which makes her even more mysterious in his eyes. As they continue to investigate, the truth of everything slowly unfolds before the viewer's eyes.

Everything from the supernatural element to the overall dark setting of the show will give both Death Note and Twilight fans the satisfaction they desire. The 32-episode series has been rated 7.8/10 by fans on My Drama List and is one of the best in the superpower/mystery genre.
