This Grey's Anatomy Character Couldn't Honestly Be Any Creepier
Even when you have a hospital renamed after you, it doesn't mean you're not a weirdo.
Grey's Anatomy is many people's go-to when they need a comfort show, but who said that comfort shows cannot have characters that are truly disturbing and creepy? Shonda Rhimes' iconic medical drama is no exception, because honestly... what was Mark Sloan's deal?
Yes, we know the guy is dead and it was pretty traumatic for a lot of people in the fandom, but many fans cannot understand his mysterious appeal up to this day. Redditor FernwehForLife7, for their part, recalled what appears to be of the most bizarre Mark moments in the show.
"Mark's grandchild is born, and basically the first thing he does is open the baby's diaper, showing the penis to Derek, and says that the baby is definitely a Sloan. Like... what?!" the fan wondered.
Even for a "manwh*re" character like Mark, this comment seemed way too over-the-top and cringe-worthy, and many fans are still not okay with it when they re-watch the show.
Turns out Mark's character did not age well, as people are remembering all his sexually charged comments that were not only uncomfortable to hear but sometimes borderline inappropriate.
"He constantly made gross comments, was a walking sexual harassment case, and was introduced as the guy who had sex with his best friend's wife. I never liked Mark," Redditor Fitztragedy said.
Even Mark fans believe that it was actor Eric Dane who made his character so likeable, and if it wasn't for his natural charisma, fewer people would be ready to call themselves Mark fans.
Still, the character was perpetuated in Grey's Anatomy, as the hospital was renamed after him and Lexie Grey, the two fatal casualties in the horrible plane crash in 2012.
