No on-screen gangster has killed, injured, or set up more people than this character of the iconic hospital show.

Summary:

  • Jerry Jacks was a recurring villain in General Hospital from the 1990s to 2017.
  • Throughout his time on the show, Jacks committed over 100 various crimes.
  • Jacks’s criminal record beats even those of the main on-screen gangsters like Tony Soprano or Tommy Shelby by a large margin.

When talking about a hospital TV show, you don’t typically expect to have gangsters among their most prominent characters… Especially the likes of General Hospital’s Jerry Jacks, whose track record looks like it could belong to an actual terrorist rather than your typical mobster. Throughout the many years of his questionable career, Jacks left a trail of bodies and broken fates in his wake.

At this point, even Tony Soprano and Tommy Shelby could take lessons from him!

If you’re one of the newer General Hospital fans or just haven’t been paying attention, this might sound bizarre, but Jerry Jacks’ crimes were so numerous that, combined, they would have been enough to sentence the entire population of a small town for life. Take a deep breath, because we’re about to give you the exact number.

According to the General Hospital Wiki, Jerry Jacks committed exactly 100 various crimes from the 1990s to 2017. But if that isn’t enough to tickle WTF-sensors, many of the listed crimes incorporate several criminal acts into one. Plus, only Jerry’s known crimes that explicitly happened on-screen are listed on the Wiki…

So yeah, it’s safe to say that Jerry Jacks was quite a special character.

Like any respectable mobster, Jacks had quite a diverse portfolio of crimes to his name. Almost every criminal activity you could think of can be found in his professional resume: money laundry, assaults, bombing, extortion, theft, espionage, blackmail, taking hostages, drug import, arson, rape, and, of course, numerous cases of first-degree murders.

Even the top-notch on-screen gangsters like The Sopranos ’ Tony Soprano or Peaky Blinders ’ Tommy Shelby never managed to commit so many crimes and ruin so many lives — and they, for one, were the main characters of specifically gang-oriented shows! Meanwhile, Jerry Jacks was like a tertiary character of a hospital series General Hospital.

This really goes to show just how ridiculous TV shows can get the longer they’re on air, doesn’t it? But hey, we love General Hospital anyway!
