This Arrow Plot Hole Still Has the Fandom Up in Arms
Fans pointed out that Oliver should’ve never gone to prison at the end of the sixth season in the first place.
Summary:
- Arrow fans have pointed out that Sara Lance couldn't bring a memory wiper from her planet to erase memories from the FBI about Oliver being Green Arrow.
- Other fans disagree, citing Oliver's refusal to let her do it, the fact that Oliver confessed publicly, and the fact that the crossover between characters doesn't change the plot of other shows.
Arrow is an exciting show based on the DC Comics series Green Arrow, which is beloved by many people around the world. However, such close attention leads to fans finding plot holes. Yes, even after all this time.
Redditor Zimboy112 described the most ridiculous plot hole, in their opinion, which took place in the finale of season 6. They don’t understand how Sara Lance, who is originally from Earth-1, couldn’t bring the memory wiper from her planet to erase memories from the FBI about Oliver being Green Arrow.
Even though it may seem reasonable, other fans disagree that it would work, and here’s why.
Firstly, Oliver wouldn’t let her do it. Let's not forget that, without the FBI, Team Arrow couldn’t take down Diaz. Their help was so necessary that Oliver even turned himself in for his crimes as a vigilante.
Secondly, it would be not only the FBI's memory that they had to wipe. Oliver confessed publicly, which means anyone that has a TV or device connected to the Internet and had watched the news saw it. They’d be wiping the minds of pretty much everyone.
And finally, even though these characters exist in the same universe, it doesn’t mean that they can change the plot. Season 6 is dedicated to Oliver going to prison. The audience saw it building up and finally happening.
“Just because these characters crossover doesn't mean they can change the plot of the other shows. It is as simple as this,” Redditor Own-Seaworthiness254 says.
So even though erasing memory may theoretically seem like a good idea, in reality, it would face a lot of difficulties. Not to mention that it would lead to even more plot holes.
So maybe it is better that things went as they were supposed to. Besides, we got an amazing prison arc out of this.
