This $774 Million Nolan Blockbuster Revived Tarantino's Lost Hope For Sci-Fi

Christopher Nolan 's Interstellar made quite an impression on the one and only Quentin Tarantino.
It seems that the iconic director was very excited to see his colleague succeed in the sci-fi field, even though Tarantino himself thought the genre was already dead.
According to Tarantino, he hasn't enjoyed a sci-fi movie since The Matrix, which is actually praised as a classic movie of the genre.
Well, no wonder, we all remember how legendary that franchise was and the impact it had on the movie world.
But Nolan clearly had no less impact: even before seeing Interstellar, Tarantino felt it would be something worth watching.
"We're waiting for the movie to start and it hit me. I realized that it hadn't been since The Matrix that I was actually that interested in seeing a movie even though I didn't know what I was going to see. It's been a while since somebody has come out with such a big vision for things."
Tarantino truly praised Nolan for his imagination and unique vision.
According to the Pulp Fiction director, Interstellar is rich in tiny details you would rather expect to see in the works of Andrei Tarkovsky or Terrence Malick, not a pop culture sci-fi movie.
No wonder Interstellar was such a huge success across the world.
Billions of viewers (including Tarantino) appreciated Nolan's job, with the movie starring Matthew McConaughey and Jessica Chastain grossing $774 million globally, having cost just $165 million to make.
On IMDb, the Nolan and Tarantino films have very similar ratings: for example, Pulp Fiction (ranked eighth on the site's top 250 movies) has a rating of 8.8, while Interstellar (ranked 25th on the list) has a rating of 8.6.

Who knows, maybe Nolan himself will pay a visit to the theaters to check out Tarantino's new upcoming movie that the director is currently working on.
Details are being kept under wraps, and the little information we do know leaves us with more questions than answers.
Titled The Movie Critic, the movie will be set in 1977, but as Tarantino has already stated, it won't revolve around world-famous film critic Pauline Kael as many expected.
