These Two Will Replace Tony Stark And Steve Rogers As MCU’s Avengers Leaders, Fans Believe
Are you excited to hear “Avengers, assemble!” again?
While the original Avengers cast with the original team members will always hold a special place in the hearts of audiences, life goes on and the legacy of the iconic superhero team should continue. This has been the studio's plan all along, and fans already think they know what to expect.
Now that the two leaders, Steve Rogers, portrayed by Chris Evans, and Tony Stark, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., have left the MCU, the question has arisen. Who will be next?
No team can survive without a strong leader. Two leaders are fine, as long as they don't start bickering to the point of creating a literal civil war.
From a franchise standpoint, it would be wiser to make the leader someone the audience already knows and trusts, rather than introducing them right away.
That leaves two perfect candidates to fill the positions: Carol Danvers, also known to audiences as Captain Marvel, and Sam Wilson, newly titled Captain America.
While Sam Wilson has already proven his worth by working closely with Steve Rogers and the rest of the Avengers on several occasions, Carol may need more time to find her footing as a leader. However, she's certainly capable of handling the weight of responsibility and seeing the bigger picture to create perfect plans.
Besides, fans can already see how good the interactions between these characters can be, and it would be very sad to lose that potential. Carol, with her experience of relying on herself, would not be the one to trust Sam easily and would probably challenge him, but Sam might be more popular with the current team because he is much more laid back.
This opportunity would not only give both characters a lot of room for growth but also a great two-sided perspective for the team.
The only bad news is that you will have to wait quite a while to find out if this will happen or not. The new release date for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, the next Avengers movie, has been set by the MCU to May 1, 2026. So stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes updates!
