One of these films has a disastrous audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, but it's not like Pattinson cares.

Robert Pattinson became popular and known to a wide audience thanks to his leading role in Twilight.

However, as soon as the filming of the saga ended, Robert decided to use his fame not to continue acting in romantic melodramas, but to create unconventional low-budget movies.

In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, the actor shared his list of favorite movies.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Pattinson fell in love with Milos Forman's movie as a teenager, and often imagined himself as Jack Nicholson's Randle McMurphy.

"A lot of that kind of "putting your middle finger up to the world" attitude — not that I really have that, but…I used to be so timid, and that was one of those films that [helped me break out]," the actor shared.

Ivans XTC

Bernard Rose's movie, an adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's The Death of Ivan Ilyich, went largely unnoticed at the box office, but Pattinson says it's one of his favorites.

According to the actor, he was struck by the performance of Danny Huston, whose acting alone elevated the entire movie.

Ivans XTC tells the story of a successful man dying of cancer and is frightening in its realism.

First Name: Carmen

According to Robert, it's Jean-Luc Godard's best movie. Film director played by Godard himself is committed to a psychiatric hospital.

His niece Carmen comes there and convinces her uncle to make a movie. Her movie includes robbing a bank and a rich man.

During a hilarious bank robbery, a guard falls in love with Carmen and rushes to the sea with her.

The Exorcist

The comment about this movie was short – Robert just loves Linda Blair, who played the main role. The movie by William Friedkin has become a classic and a standard of horror about exorcism.

The authors did a great job both on the make-up and the scene of exorcising evil spirits was sometimes even called too realistic.

Corky Romano

This movie only has a 5% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but that didn't stop it from making it into Pattinson's top five.

"I love that film. Literally, that's one of the only films I've pissed my pants at," Robert commented.

Corky Romano is the son of a crime boss. He lost touch with his family long ago because he couldn't adjust to their life of crime.

The plot takes a turn when his father comes to Corky with a request.
