Unless the Viscount and his Viscountess stick for 10 years more.

Summary:

  • Bridgerton is a romantic period drama television series produced by Netflix and Shondaland.
  • The show is based on the novel series of the same name by Julia Quinn.
  • With each season so far taking about 2 years to release, it's likely that the previous main characters won't be around for the finale.
  • By moving Anthony and Kate Bridgerton out, the show may get rid of unnecessary drama.

As unfortunate as it is, Bridgerton doesn't have the best record when it comes to hiatus lengths. Whether it's due to the circumstances surrounding the production or the internal need for reshoots, each season is released two years after the previous one, making fans wait much longer than they'd like.

On the bright side, Bridgerton already had a very loyal fan base when it was picked up by Netflix. Julia Quinn's series, which was created in the early 2000s, had many admirers around the world before the adaptation, but they've only grown in number since. Now it's clear that the audience will stick with the show through thick and thin.

The same can't be said for the actors, who probably didn't sign on for 10 years at a time. Looking back at the departure of Regé-Jean Page, who played the Duke of Hastings in season 1, viewers are concerned that the same will happen to Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley, Anthony and Kate Bridgerton.

Will Violet Bridgerton Move Out?

Fans believe that the key to keeping Anthony and Kate on the show as recurring characters for as long as necessary is actually in the books. After Anthony married as a Viscount, the title of Viscountess passed to his wife, Kate Bridgerton, along with all the duties of Lady of the House.

In the books, this was the reason for Violet to move out, leaving the original Bridgerton house to the new Viscount and Viscountess. However, many believe that the show would not want to go through the trouble of changing primary locations and sets. Therefore, it would be wise to keep Violet and all the younger children in place...and move Kate and Anthony instead!

Not only would the move allow the couple to live an independent life and grow a new branch of their own family, but it would also set up a picture where neither Jonathan Bailey nor Simone Ashley would have to be constantly on screen. Instead, they could become recurring characters, popping up for occasional dialogue.

Of course, seeing less of Kanthony would be heartbreaking for the majority of fans, but it would be a better solution than losing the head of the family altogether. That is the scenario we doubt anyone would want to happen.

To see what Bridgeton season 3 has in store for Anthony and Kate Bridgeton and how their relationship will flourish, be sure to tune in to Netflix on May 16, 2024 to not miss the premiere of the first 4 episodes!
