There's Only One Yellowstone Spinoff Fans Will Be Satisfied With

Who doesn't love a good old-fashioned western? And with Taylor Sheridan 's iconic creation, Yellowstone, the genre received a new wave of popularity among audiences.

The show about a big dysfunctional family of the Duttons won the hearts of the fans in no time, so it was obvious that with such popularity, a spinoff would not be long in coming. However, nobody expected that there would be two of them so soon.

1883

The first one to be released was the prequel spinoff named 1883, which is about how it all started in the first place.

The story of the family before they founded the Montana ranch that would make their descendants famous is in the center of the show which lasts for ten episodes. It was later established that there would be a season 2, but there was no news after that.

1923

When the first spinoff became a hit it was obvious another one would follow shortly. So in February 2022 Paramount+ announced that it would be producing another Dutton prequel with Sheridan.

The main stars of the show are Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, who play the Duttons of the time. The show is also reported to have a second season soon, without any additional plot or cast details.

What The Fans Would Like To See In a New Spinoff?

Well, there are still talks about several other series that might be released to expand the Yellowstone universe, like 1944 or 6666, but they are all still in the discussion stage. And it seems that the fans are tired of all the multi-episode seasons about how things were before.

What they really want is something warm and beautiful with a minimum of characters and a maximum of soul. And who better to fill the role of the new show's main character than Yellowstone’s fan favorite, Mo, who is Thomas Rainwater's right-hand man and member of the tribal police.

“I need Taylor Sheridan to create at least a 3-part mini series of our beloved Mo. I need to know what his childhood/upbringing was like, how he met Tom Rainwater, and how he became the badass Mo we love,” Redditor pickle-pizza-99 said.

Well, the idea seems pretty fresh, and the enthusiasm over the suggestion only proves that a large part of the fandom would love to see a show like this.

This pitch works so well mostly because of the fact that Mo's character is actually the peacebringer of the show and almost every storyline he is involved in. Fans of the character even joke that Mo was so wise and mature even as a child, it’s just his nature.
