Everything is set up for the most awkward family meetup.

Despite being on the air for 50 years straight now, The Young and the Restless keeps proving that it’s not planning on going anywhere soon. If anything, for its anniversary year the soap has prepared a number of amazing comebacks, cameos, and great twists for viewers to explore.

The grand return of the series’ vet Hayley Erin is definitely one of such surprises. The actress has starred on the soap from 2008 to 2010, portraying Abby Newman.

Many would think that this news marks the new beginning for the character, as well as the new storyline for her parents, Ashley Abbott and Victor Newman; however, that is not correct.

The grand twist that no one truly saw coming is that Hayley Erin returns to Genoa City with a completely new character rather than a recast of her previous one. This time, the actress will portray Claire Grace, who’s going to be somehow involved with the Newman Media too.

As complicated as it would be to comprehend, we’re sure The Young and the Restless will take a special moment to show Claire Grace on screen with her former parents, as well as Abby Newman herself. Now the character is portrayed by Melissa Ordway, and it would be very fun to see the two actresses unite in the same scene.

Who do you prefer as Abby Newman?

Hayley Erin is yet another addition to the chain of returns for The Young and the Restless’ 50-year-anniversary celebration. The viewers are also set to meet the series’ veteran Veronica Redd, who will come back at the end of this September to reprise her iconic role of Mamie.

As of today, there are no details about when Claire Grace will first appear on screen, and for how long she is going to stay. However, fans hope to see her bring some juicy drama to Genoa City and have a fairly long run.

If you want to see what else The Young and the Restless has in store for the rest of the year, and what familiar face you may see suddenly appearing next, tune in to CBS Monday through Friday to not miss out on new episodes.
