The series has managed to claim the top spot among Netflix shows, although this success is unlikely to last for long.

Ever since the news broke that Henry Cavill would be leaving The Witcher TV series after season 3, many fans have been saying that the show would experience a massive drop in viewership as soon as the season was released, marking its inevitable demise.

Additionally, the quality of season 2 had declined significantly since the show's debut, and there was no reason to expect things to get better.

However, it seems that their predictions were wrong, as the fantasy series took the top spot among other shows on Netflix in the period from June 26 to July 2 in an English-language list.

The first part of The Witcher Season 3 got 15.2 million views and also sparked interest in Season 1, which got 2.2 million views.

However, it still lags behind Netflix's biggest hit, Extraction 2 starring Chris Hemsworth, which got 17.5 million views this week alone and 102.5 million views overall, although it is in the movie category.

Yet, this can be easily explained by the fact that a lot of fans flocked to see Henry Cavill's "farewell performance," as he will only appear in the rest of the season, which will be released a bit later.

In season 4, the actor will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth, and that will most likely be the moment when the show will fully experience the consequences of Cavill's departure.

With all due respect to Liam, many fans will simply stop watching the show, because even though it was criticized, Henry remained the main attraction due to his outstanding performance.

Fans are once again repeating that maybe it would have been better to let the show die, especially after season 3 failed to become some sort of redemption for the series. And with Cavill gone, there is a real possibility that things will get even worse.

The final three episodes of The Witcher season 3 will premiere on July 27, 2023.
