Everyone knows what we have to do with coins (toss them to your Witcher, of course), as The Witcher is one of Netflix 's most popular projects (let's not talk about the quality here). And while fans continue to debate whether Liam Hemsworth is a good replacement for Henry Cavill, the platform is focusing on animated content.
In 2021, the anime The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf was released, showing viewers that Vesemir was not always the wise and calm mentor – in his youth he lived life to the fullest, with reckless drinking, dashing affairs and, of course, deadly battles with monsters and humans.
Now all fans are waiting for a new animated project called The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, where the main character will no longer be Vesemir, but Geralt.
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep's Plot
Something mysterious happens in one of the coastal villages and Geralt is asked to investigate and find out who is attacking the people. The witcher is forced into a conflict that has been going on for many years. Humans and merpeople are at war, but the two kingdoms must find a compromise to save lives.
The anime is based on the story A Little Sacrifice from the book Sword of Destiny – the second work of the fantasy cycle by Andrzej Sapkowski. The action will take place during the events of the first season of the live-action series The Witcher, between the fifth and sixth episodes, which was filmed based on the first two parts of the book series The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny.
Sirens of the Deep's Cast
Geralt of Rivia will be voiced by Doug Cockle, the English voice of The Witcher in the CD Projekt RED series of games. The sorceress Yennefer and the bard Jasper will play an important role in the plot, and the show's stars Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey will return to their roles.
Among the new characters will be the bard Essi Daven, nicknamed Little Eye. Geralt's ally will be voiced by Christina Wren, known for her role in Man of Steel as Carrie Farris.
When Will The Witcher Anime Release?
The exact release date has not been announced, but it is known that The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will be released at the end of 2024.
