The Walking Dead Theory Suggests That There Is More to Terminus Cannibals Than You Think

Most of The Walking Dead fans would agree that Terminus wasn’t the biggest enemy Rick’s group encountered, but it definitely was one of the most ruthless.

But what if Terminus, the seemingly safe haven that turned out to be a den of cannibals, was more than just a group of people driven to extreme measures for survival?

One detail from the show suggests that Terminus might have had ties to the CRM (Civic Republic Military), a group that is currently in the center of the events of the universe.

While Rick's group was battling the Terminus residents, you might have noticed a significant clue spray-painted on the side of a train car: a giant letter A.

This same symbol was later associated with Jadis and the Scavengers, who used it to mark those they captured for the CRM. The CRM, known for their A and B designations for captives, might have had a connection with Terminus we didn’t know about.

Given that Terminus was strategically located and attracted numerous survivors, it's plausible that the CRM saw them as a valuable asset. Instead of Terminus using every newcomer as their next meal, they might have set some aside for the CRM, delivering them in train cars, possibly in exchange for resources.

But if Terminus had access to ample food and encountered a larger group like the CRM, wouldn’t they have abandoned their cannibalistic ways? That’s a good question.

Another issue is that if the CRM had discovered Terminus's dark secret, they would have likely eradicated them. However, Terminus could have encountered the CRM before their descent into cannibalism, so there could have been a mutually beneficial relationship. Or Terminus might have just kept it a secret from CRM.

If the CRM and Terminus were indeed connected, it reshapes our understanding of the CRM's interest in Rick.

Instead of solely relying on information from Jadis, the CRM might have known about Rick's role in the downfall of Terminus. This knowledge could have influenced their perception of him, either as a potential ally or a formidable adversary.

It would be just mind-blowing if this theory ever gets confirmation. Actually, it is not entirely impossible, and we might see it happen in the upcoming The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
