One of the new spinoffs of The Walking Dead is finally out. The first episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City aired on Sunday, leaving fans wondering what's going to happen next.

In the episode, we find out that Maggie’s son Hershel was kidnapped by none other than an ex-member of the Saviors (once led by Negan) by the name of The Croat. That is actually the reason why Maggie asked Negan to help her save Hershel.

Even though Negan is on board to help Maggie, she doesn't trust him and keeps her plan under wraps.

One fan theory shared on Reddit suggests that Maggie may be hiding her true intentions from Negan. The trailer for the show hints at a tense confrontation between Maggie and Negan, further fueling speculation.

The theory suggests that Maggie may have struck a deal with The Croat in order to save her son. This clandestine arrangement could explain Maggie's secretive behavior and reluctance to involve Negan in her plan.

According to Negan, many psychos were members of his group, but The Croat was one exceptional psycho. As a former leader of the Saviors, Negan certainly has some history with The Croat, which makes him a key figure in Maggie's mission to rescue Hershel.

It's possible that The Croat seeks revenge against Negan for past actions, leading to his interest in Maggie's plan. As the season progresses, Negan might piece together the fragments of Maggie's strategy, resulting in a clash between the two characters that we’ve seen in the trailer.

Do you think Maggie would actually go for it to save her son? We seriously doubt she'd even hesitate. No matter how much good Negan's done since then, Maggie can't just can’t forget what he did to Glenn. As it was shown in the episode, that horrific incident still haunts her in her nightmares.

Some fans think Negan's got it all figured out from the moment Maggie asked for his help and mentioned The Croat’s name. They're speculating that he might confront Maggie at some point, and maybe she'll have a change of heart, and they'll come up with a new plan to outsmart The Croat.
