It's coming. As we prepare for the grand finale of The Walking Dead, which airs on November 20th, we can't help but wonder what the end of the hit AMC series, which has been running since 2010, might look like.

People associated with the show have recently dropped dozens of teasers about the upcoming finale.

Some of the main cast members, such as Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, and Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene Potter, have spoken out about the show's final episodes.

Key members of the production team such as director Greg Nicotero, chief content officer Scott Gimple and executive producer Angela Kang have also spent hours talking to journalists about the end of the TWD franchise. But none of them have spilled the beans and dropped any specific spoilers, apart from general words and cautious phrases.

One of the most recurring comments everyone has made so far is that we should be prepared for a very emotional finale. Angela Kang said it again when she sat down with TVLine to talk about TWD's final episode, Rest in Peace, which airs on Sunday.

"It's a highly emotional episode," said Kang. Thank you! We've heard that a hundred times in the last few weeks already. The executive producer has warned that there will be a lot of tears, which "will come for different reasons for different characters."

Kang also teased some tense action and scary moments as the stakes are understandably high. The final episode will answer one of the most important questions – why do people follow their leaders? According to Kang, it is simply because "there is heart, there is a chosen family. These are the perfect ingredients to move forward and overcome all the horrors and difficulties they face.

The writing team certainly did a great job, but Kang also gives credit to Greg Nicotero, who directed the final episodes of the TWD series. She said that Greg Nicotero went above and beyond to direct "a very, very challenging, huge episode in the midst of all the things we had to deal with production-wise.

The show may be almost over, but as they say, the King is dead. Long live the King! The Walking Dead franchise is not going anywhere. The show, which ran for so many years, leaves behind a massive legacy and has spawned six spin-offs. Of course, some argue that they were teased too early and ruined the pleasure of watching the finale.

TWD's final 90-minute episode, 24: Rest in Peace, will air on AMC+ and AMC this Sunday, 20th November.
