The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Might Finally Reveal What Happened to This Long-Missing Character
There's a chance Heath could return, but it might not be in a way that you would like.
Even after The Walking Dead wrapped up, there were some characters who vanished and never came back. But arguably none of them left as big a hole as Heath did, especially for fans of the original comic books, where he played a more prominent role.
Heath was a supply runner for Alexandria. Despite his sometimes cynical outlook, he was a loyal dude, always having the backs of his fellow survivors. But Heath suddenly vanished in the seventh season, and fans have been scratching their heads over his mysterious disappearance for years.
Well, there is a real-life reason why Heath disappeared. Corey Hawkins, the actor who portrayed the character, was lured away by the siren call of new acting opportunities. He snagged the lead role in a 24 spinoff, 24: Legacy, on FOX.
Even though that show didn't get a second season, Hawkins didn't miss a beat. He went on to star in Spike Lee's Oscar-winning film BlacKkKlansman and the biopic Georgetown.
But what happened to Heath in the TWD universe? Angela Kang, the showrunner, revealed (via CinemaBlend) that Heath was taken by Jadis and the Scavengers and traded to the CRM for supplies. We later find out in TWD: World Beyond that Jadis aka Anne became a respected officer of the CRM.
This has led fans to speculate that Heath might have been labeled as an A (which could mean he was turned into a walker test subject) or a B (which might mean he's living, but under harsh conditions).
So what does Daryl Spinoff’s have to do with Heath? In the finale of the premiere episode, we find out that Daryl was on the ship that navigates from the US to France. The group we see in France, led by Madame Genet, is supposedly connected to the CRM.
What we also find out is that these ships transported test subjects (variant walkers) to France for some reason. Given that heath could have been labeled as an A, he might have eventually become a variant walker.
With the introduction of variant Walkers and the experiments surrounding them, it's an intriguing idea. It’s no wonder fans are so excited after watching only one episode.
