The Wait for Pattinson's Batman Sequel Will Be Outrageously Long
Yes, DC universe might be finally going through a revival, but this doesn't mean quick good news for the Batman fans.
With the DC Studios shake-up and James Gunn and Peter Safran being placed to rule the new branch, things might not induce optimism in fans who can't wait for the Batman sequel from Matt Reeves.
Reeves' Batman, as well as Todd Phillips' Joker sequel, will not be a part of the new DC Film, TV and Animations divisions — and therefore, it looks like they are going to be moving on separately from the new promising leadership. Although both movies have been greenlit, The Batman sequel might get its release date sometime around 2025 "at the earliest", according to the studio's plans.
The work on the second Batman movie is underway, with Reeves and Mattson Tomlin currently developing the script. However, we'll have to wait for at least two more years for the film to hit screens, and plot details are still a mystery.
The first movie ended up garnering a lot of fan love for Robert Pattinson 's Batman, and the introduction of Barry Keoghan's Joker (albeit in a deleted scene), also made waves in the fandom.
But as DC studio goes through big changes and clearly focuses on the return of Superman and developing his story in connection with newly-introduced anti-hero Black Adam, Reeves' Batman seems to be all alone.
For many fans, the news is quite disappointing. However, some people seem to be okay with the long wait as long as the spinoffs continue to arrive.
"As long as we get Penguin and Arkham Asylum earlier with teases of Pattinson in then then I'm good with that. But 0 Battinson in the next 3 years would be hard to deal with," Twitter user Wolf_Dhesi said.
Some fans even argued that this could be a good thing if people want to see a well-written film instead of a "rushed movie with a bad script".
It would seem that Batman fans will have to brace for a long wait anyway — until the bat sign appears in the Gotham night sky once again.
