Another proof of Elisabeth Moss amazing acting skills.

Summary:

  • Shining Girls is an Apple TV+ series released in 2022 starring Elisabeth Moss.
  • The show is a sci-fi thriller that revolves around a series of mysterious murders.
  • Moss' character, Kirby Mazrachi, is determined to find out what is behind the evil events in her life.

With each passing day, there are more and more sci-fi shows that turn the viewers into obsessive fans wanting more from the platforms. For example, the recent premiere of Constellation on Apple TV Plus reminded the audience that there is more to the genre and it needs to be carefully explored.

One of the best shows with a thrilling sci-fi premise is a 2022 series called Shining Girls. Featuring the star of legendary The Handmaid’s Tale show Elisabeth Moss, it tells a story of a young woman who was under a brutal attack many years ago and whose survival was actually a miracle. But was it really?

After the maniac assaulted her, Kirby Mazrachi was left in a constantly shifting reality. She worked in the archives department of a Chicago newspaper, but her dream was to become a journalist one day. However, the attack put those dreams on pause.

One day she learned about a recent murder that seems to be connected to the same maniac who assaulted her. Now, together with a professional journalist Dan Velasquez, she begins the investigation.

What is absolutely amazing about the show, except for its smart and powerful writing, is Moss’ acting. The critics along with the viewers were taken away with the way she portrayed a tortured young woman in this series. It’s not like it was her first time doing a gig like that, because apparently the role of Offred taught her a lot.

But this time she made an even bigger impression on the audience. So much that the fans claim it was her best ever role.

“I am obsessed, I’ve already rewatched it to try and understand everything better! I love that it requires focus and no distractions,” Redditor ForgetfulLucy28 said.

Despite the fact that the first season of the show was very well received, Apple TV+ never greenlit the show for the next one. But you still can enjoy the first season on the platform.
