Fans hated Lisa Goes Gaga so much that it became the worst of all 751 episodes.

In 1998, Time magazine named The Simpsons the best TV show of the 20th century. This is not surprising, as it not only tells the story of an American family, but is also filled with social satire. The creators are not afraid to make fun of celebrities and politicians, as well as touch on serious issues.

The Simpsons is a major cultural phenomenon that has influenced the values and beliefs of the entire generation. The cult animated series, which has already achieved the status of a classic, has turned references to other works into a genre of art in its own right.

Another feature of the series was the cameos of the biggest stars. Thus, in 2012, an episode Lisa Goes Gaga was released with the participation of Lady Gaga, who at that time was at the absolute peak of her musical career.

But this time, the creators did not get quite the ratings from the viewers that they expected.

According to the plot, the singer comes to Springfield to help Lisa Simpson cope with depression. Lisa Goes Gaga from season 23 received the lowest rating from Simpsons fans, with only 4 out of 10, according to IMDb.

When stars are invited to join an animated series, it creates a great foundation for comedy. For example, Robert Smith of The Cure fought the giant Barbra Streisand on South Park. The Simpsons, Futurama and South Park have always been famous for both celebrity parodies and a platform for their self-irony. But that is not the case with Lisa Goes Gaga.

According to fans, the creators of The Simpsons did not make it satirical as usual. The episode was rather something like a tribute to the pop star, where she becomes a wise mentor to Lisa and solves her problems. It felt more like a commercial than an episode of the poignant animated series with social commentary.

At the same time, fans feel that there was no need to expose or insult Lady Gaga. But why didn't the writers come up with something more original for her than the boring role of idol and mentor? Gaga in the 2010s often behaved provocatively and gave a lot of reasons for jokes, but unfortunately none of them were used.
