The Rookie: 5 Celebrity Cameos So Surprising They Almost Took Us Out of the Show, Ranked
The show took cameos to the next level.
The Rookie focuses on the realistic portrayal of police work and the challenges faced by those new to the profession. It shows how John Nolan and other rookies learn to deal with stressful situations and overcome their fears.
The Rookie is good on its own, but what makes it even better are the striking celebrity cameos.
5. Pete Davidson
You've probably heard the name Pete Davidson before, even if you're not a comedy fan. This comedian is a guy who doesn't pretend and doesn't try to impress anyone.
And that is exactly what his character became in The Rookie. Pete played his namesake, the half-brother of the main character John Nolan. He is not nearly as responsible as his brother, but they still get along well.
4. Molly Quinn
This cameo was about as heartwarming as it gets. Did you recognize Molly Quinn, who played the daughter of Nathan Fillion's character in the TV series Castle? If not, you need to fill in the blanks and watch Fillion's most famous work.
However, there was no warm relationship between Molly and Nathan’s characters on The Rookie, as Quinn played the daughter of criminal Oscar Hutchinson in the season 3 episode Bad Blood.
3. Emily Deschanel
Most viewers know Emily Deschanel from her starring role in the popular TV series Bones, which followed a team of forensic anthropologists as they helped solve cold cases.
For three seasons, fans wondered who the woman that had the guts to break up with John was, especially since he mentioned her in literally every episode. Emily’s Sarah first appeared in the season 3 episode Brave Heart.
2. Will.i.am
Will.i.am is best known as the frontman and co-founder of the super-successful hip-hop group The Black Eyed Peas. His cameo in the series was truly unexpected and added a humorous touch.
The musician appeared in the season 1 episode The Checklist. According to the plot, the stalker tried to parachute into Selena Gomez's house, but failed to calculate the trajectory and landed right in Will.i.am's backyard.
1. Rainn Wilson
Many fans of The Office recognized this actor — Rainn Wilson played the awkward and hilarious Dwight Schrute.
Rainn’s cameo in The Rookie was also a little weird (but in a good way). In the season 3 episode called True Crime, the actor played himself participating in the filming of the documentary.
