Che is on their way to becoming one of the most hated characters on And Just Like That… for the way they treat their girlfriend, but Miranda low-key deserves it.

In season 1, Miranda and Steve's sex life is non-existent, and they seem to have drifted apart – or so Miranda thinks.

She eventually falls for Carrie's podcast co-host Che and cheats on Steve with them. After discovering her new sexuality, Miranda leaves her husband of 18 years and starts dating Che.

And Just Like That's Miranda and Sex and the City's Miranda are practically two different people. Miranda Hobbes used to be a fiercely independent and career-oriented lawyer who would never put someone else's needs ahead of her own.

Steve and Miranda were sweet, but Steve basically did everything to be with her, and Miranda just allowed him to be in her presence.

Steve sought Miranda's approval for the entirety of their relationship and just wanted to be good enough for her, while Miranda largely dismissed him and his desires.

Sure, she forgave him for cheating, but everything else was basically about her, her, and her. How the turntables…

And Just Like That sheds light on a different side of Miranda. Once she started hooking up with Che, she became needy, clingy, and kind of pathetic.

Miranda gave up a prestigious internship for Che, and they don't even seem to care that much about Miranda. In short, she became Steve.

Even her and Che's story started the same way – with Miranda cheating on Steve. The only difference is that she didn't ask for forgiveness like her husband once did because she grew tired of poor old Steve and wanted something more exciting.

Whether the writers deliberately reversed Miranda's narrative or not, it is a brilliant move. Steve has been the victim for far too long, and it's refreshing to see Miranda struggle as much as he has.

In a way, Steve got his justice, and it was long overdue. It would be even more satisfying if Steve finally got his happily-ever-after and Miranda ended up regretting her decision to leave him.

Let's see what season 2 has in store for us. The third episode premieres this Thursday on Max.
