The Office fans spent quite some time arguing when the show jumped the shark.

Well, if it wasn't for Steve Carell, we are sure that no dispute would take place, cause the answer would be on the surface.

Sometimes it takes just one person's "no" to make a huge change to the plotline. And The Office fans should be happy that Carell cared enough to say that word to the show runners.

The thing is, the beloved two-part episode Niagara in season 6 could have had a really provocative scene.

We all remember that the episode's highlight is Pam and Jim's wedding, but the happy event was almost overshadowed by… horse death.

But let's start from the beginning. Originally the plot suggested that Jim and Pam's ceremony would be interrupted by Roy entering the church on a horseback dressed like a white knight.

Why all the trouble? Of course, to win Pam back. But that was not enough horse play for one episode, writers thought. And added Dwight to the scene.

So initially, he would have found Roy's horse and used it to ride to the falls. And here's where the "fun part" begins.

The storyline ended with Dwight abandoning the horse just as it's about to go over Niagara falls. Schrute would survive, but the horse's fate would not be that happy.

It would just fall to its death in the background of the happily married couple having romantic time on the boat… But thanks to Carell, that scene never existed.

"Glad he was a voice of reason over the horse drama. Part of me almost wishes there was a filmed deleted scene out there so we could see just how bad this was.. I suppose my own imaginings are bad enough," Reddit user Public_Owl said.

Of course the series already had several dead animal jokes, like the way Sprinkles passed away or when everybody was sure that Kevin's dog is not alive, but adding horse killing to that list was definitely a bit too much.
