When it comes to beloved sitcoms of the 1980s, few shows are more iconic than Night Court.

So, when it was announced that a reboot of the series was in the works, fans were sent into a frenzy. However, with the news came the question of which of the favorite characters would be returning.

While fans are certainly eager to see a number of faces, there's one in particular that simply must make a comeback: Richard Moll's lovable and iconic Bull Shannon.

The original series ran from 1984 to 1992 and followed the hilarious antics of a Manhattan Criminal Court and its wacky and wonderful characters.

The show was an undeniable fan favorite, and throughout its 9-season run, it received numerous awards and nominations.

And over 30 years later, in 2020, it was announced that NBC was working on a sequel series that has since been renewed for a second season, following the strong reception of the initial episodes.

Now, the reboot features an almost entirely new cast. As of now, the only original cast member to return is John Larroquette, who played Dan Fielding.

While Larroquette's return is exciting news for some fans, it's another character that has them truly buzzing with anticipation – Bull Shannon.

Nostradamus "Bull" Shannon was a bailiff who seemed unintelligent at first glance but had a very high IQ. His towering presence, deep voice, and childlike innocence won over audiences from the very beginning.

Bull was the heart and soul of the original show, providing a grounding force for the rest of the characters amidst the chaos that ensued in every episode.

The beloved character was played by actor Richard Moll and his portrayal of Bull was one of the most memorable and endearing performances of the entire series, making him an integral part of the show's success.

But what are the actual chances of him returning? Well, let's just say it doesn't look promising.

Despite Moll's mainstream success on the show, he was allegedly quite unhappy when the cameras stopped rolling. After Night Court concluded, Moll expressed his opposition to participating in any reunions or reprising his character.

In fact, Moll explicitly stated in a TMZ interview that he would "run in the other direction" if offered a return to the series, and his explanation for it was simple: he loves show business but can't stand the people.

It's undeniable that Moll's portrayal of the bailiff was one of the highlights of the original series, and his presence in the reboot would add a much-needed sense of familiarity and authenticity to the show. But sadly, it looks like it's unlikely Moll would be interested in making a return.
