The Most Brutal TWD Death Was a Human-Human Kill
With AMC's The Walking Dead series officially dead, we are gearing up for more action as the Walking Dead spin-offs are upon us.
We all had a great time this Sunday watching the extended finale of the TWD show that kept us on the edge of our seats for over a decade. And one thing we fans are good at is discussing every single episode of the hit series ad infinitum.
U/mikrokosmosarehere started a thread on Reddit asking his fellow commenters which human-on-human kill could be considered the most brutal in the TWD series.
According to the redditor, Rick killing Joe by ripping out his throat with his teeth in the final episode of season 4 is brutal enough to make the top of the list. The scene was so shocking that it totally made mikrokosmosarehere's "mouth hanging open forever".
It was followed by Negan killing Glenn and Abe in a very scary way in season 7. It was pretty shocking even for an ex-Marine who served in Iraq. He also said his dad used to take him on his runs when he was a kid, so he had some experience. But the killings of Glenn and Abe were so brutal and realistic that the former Marine had to step outside – it was too much for him.
Others say it was every kill the Terminus group, aka The Hunters, made. They killed people like animals, literally slitting their throats – no surprise to the carnivorous survivors – completely devoid of humanity.
The gang treated their victims as if they were devoid of humanity, and many TWD fans believe this was one of the worst and most brutal ways to die.
"Pretty much every other brutal death is a result of human conflict," another redditor noted, saying that people are brutal and kill because they are fighting for resources, leadership, or just revenge.
Hershel's beheading with a sword is one of those kills that TWD fans find abhorrent and hard to forget. With just one swing of the sword, the old man's head was left hanging by a thread of skin.
The showrunners promised us plenty of action and emotion – and they delivered. On the eve of The Walking Dead's final episodes, the showrunners teased an emotional ending. And in keeping with that theme, Rosita's death may have been both shocking and emotional.
She was bitten by one of the undead while trying to escape a group of walkers. She showed the bite to Eugene, and the final scene of her dying peacefully in her bed looks exactly like what the show's executive producer Angela Kang and chief content officer Scott Gimple had in mind.
