Looks like Star Wars fans can start preparing themselves for an Endgame-esque event.

The runaway success of The Mandalorian has spawned a significant number of live-action Star Wars TV shows, many of which take place in the same time period.

In addition to the aforementioned adventures of space bounty hunter Din Djarin, we now have his spin-off The Book of Boba Fett and the upcoming TV series Ahsoka and the Skeleton Crew.

All of these shows take place between Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi and Episode VII – The Force Awakens.

Such a convenient placement literally begs for a crossover, and it was partially used in episodes 5-7 of The Book of Boba Fett, which relied heavily on the character of Din. But there is the possibility of an even more ambitious event.

In an interview with The Wrap, Dave Filoni, an executive producer and director of The Mandalorian, was asked to comment on the seemingly contradictory statements of Kathleen Kennedy, who said that in 2020 the series would "culminate in a climactic story event," and Jon Favreau, who recently said that they don't have a finale to build up to yet.

"Well, from a certain point of view, it could. It could build to a climactic thing and The Mandalorian could still go on. It's not necessarily an either/or, is it?" Filoni said.

He explained that they are slowly building an ecosystem of characters and politics and events in the post-Return of the Jedi time period, which may or may not expand in a larger way as they add more shows and characters to it.

In the end, Dave summed it up by saying:

"I think that the reality of there being a big event in this time period is very real, is all I would say to that. But yes, if Jon wanted to keep making Mandalorian stories, as long as he does not get bumped off in said titanic event, then they, I suppose, could continue. There doesn't seem to be any lack of interest in Grogu and Mando, that's for sure."

Although it is too early to make any predictions before the release of Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew, fans are super excited to see what awaits them.

Some even hope that the series will end with a feature-length movie, comparing this approach to building a Star Wars equivalent to Marvel's Avengers: Endgame.
