Sometimes less is more, but not in the case of this show.

Sex and the City is an iconic series, followed by two full-length movies and a recent spinoff. All of these works are quite successful, although it seems like nothing could ever beat the parent show.

Still, there was something the writers could do to boost the ratings of the original series up until its endtime.

There's hardly anyone who hasn't heard of the powerful female friendship quartet of Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, Samantha Jones, and Charlotte York.

And there is no young girl who has not dreamed of being one of them.

And that's despite the fact that their experiences in love and life in general are pretty questionable, so one has to be careful before treating the characters like role models.

But as much as fans enjoyed the show and the adventures of four amazing New York women, there is a belief that the show should have ended sooner, and season 4 was the best time to do it.

Fans argue that the finale of that season was much more appropriate than what we actually got at the end of the show in season 6.

The thing is, the actual ending of the show does not seem that realistic to the fans, and definitely does not fit the canon of the show.

Yes, it's 100 percent romantic and all, but does it feel right for Carrie to be saved by Mr. Big?

Hasn't he always ruined everything they've built together or what she's accomplished without him? With that in mind, Big's "Paris gesture" just seems a little too much.

But the finale that fans felt we really deserved was the last episode of season 4 titled I Heart NY. It's the one where Big announces he's moving out of the city and Carrie decides to give him one last date with NY and herself.

However, everything goes wrong with their plans when Miranda goes into labor. And Carrie, like a true friend, runs away from the date to be by her friend's side.

So the main message we should have gotten from the show is the importance of friendship, not all this drama about a guy with alleged bipolar disorder.

And that would have been the perfect finale, to show that all the gang is focused on themselves instead of obsessing over guys.
