The Eclipse Stars Share Heartwarming Messages After Series Finale
As well as saying goodbye to the characters.
The Eclipse, Thai BL series about students fighting against the oppressive school system and standing up for their rights to express themselves and their love, has been finished after 12 episodes. The final episode's release was wrapped up with the cast and crew's celebration, fandom trending hashtags, and actors attending a special fan meeting before the screening.
GMMTV also released a special video for The Eclipse' fans with First Kanaphan (Akk) and Khaotung Thanawat (Ayan) answering questions about them working together, the fandom name, and memorable moments about each other.
First shared his surprise when Khaotung ended up being deeper than he expected of his co-actor. He admired him for getting devoted to the role of Ayan so heavily.
In return, Khaotung addressed his friendship with First which helped him elevate the show and their characters to a higher level. He said he was touched because First has always been supportive of him, whether it's work or personal matters. As they never worked before The Eclipse but happened to be close friends for years, Khaotung found unexpectedly strong support and understanding in First.
"Thanks for always supporting me, no matter what it's about, either my personal life or work. Also, when I clingingly ask him to buy something for me, he will do so. Thank you so much for always being here by my side, ready to listen and cheer me on. I feel lucky to have him in my life. Thank you so much". – Khaotung
"If Khaotung wasn't here in my life, I think nothing else could fulfill my life the same way he has done. Having him fulfills what my life has been missing. Right, I love him. I'm glad to have him in my life". – First
A sincere speech from his best friend made them both tear up.
The Eclipse's First and Khao Friendship is So Wholesome, Fans Can't Handle It
Even though they thanked each other for support many times already, the actors admitted they still felt strongly emotional every time. To dissolve the deep feelings, First jokingly offered Khaotung to decide who is going to pay for the land and who'll pay for the house they want to build together in the future. They ended up agreeing on opening a shared bank account. Fans couldn't find a sweeter confirmation of the deep bond First and Khaotung share.
First and Khaotung gave their fandom another unexpected surprise for the ending of The Eclipse: they performed together 'Over The Moon', the OST to the series, which was originally sung solely by Khaotung. Many fans enjoyed the meaningful performance and commented on the duo's neverending chemistry.
A second couple of male leads, Neo Trai Nimtawat (Kan) and Louis Thanawin Teeraphosukarn (Thua), conveyed their gratitude to the viewers and each other as well. Louis said they only knew each other for 2 years but he always felt comfortable and enjoyed working together with Neo. He thanked him for his support and wished to wait for a day when they can sing together on a stage again.
Neo responded to his message, calling Louis the best friend he ever had. The actor was grateful for teaching him various useful skills, from singing to the English language, he expressed happiness in having an opportunity to work with Louis and being friends with him.
Even though Neo and Louis were a secondary couple in the series, with Kan filling the role of comedic relief and Thua initially staying as a quiet character who did not want to meddle in any conflict, they had their fair amount of dramatic, touching and tear-jerking scenes. The actors shared they relied on each other's acting performance to be able to let viewers feel their sincere emotions.
Both of them also said goodbye to their characters. Neo admitted whenever any series he worked on had ended, he felt dismayed. He also left his character Kan a simple message, asking him not to be too cool. Louis wished for reserved Thua to live happily and smile a lot after he finally stood up for himself. Both actors joked that they want their characters to search for Neo and Louis and learn how to be easygoing like them and live life without stress.
All main actors have thanked their fans for diligently watching The Eclipse and supporting them up till this point. Fans are wondering whether season 2 is possible, however, the production team explained there were no talks about this so far. However, it was confirmed the author of The Eclipse novel has already started writing a second book with the characters' journey during university.
Fans suppose if GMMTV sees the demand, they might work on the adaptation of it as well. For now, the fandom eagerly awaits to see their favorite actors in the next projects. GMMTV will announce the series planned to be aired in 2023 on November 23.
