One of the Harry Potter fans pitched an idea that would make The Cursed Child an actual good novel worth adapting.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child may be one of the most cursed at books of all time. This 2016's two-part stage play written by Jack Thorne has become a proper pain in the neck to many Wizarding World fans. Though it has been a commercial success as a stage play, it has also faced lots of criticism for deviating from the themes and tone of the original books.

Many Harry Potter fans felt that The Cursed Child strayed too far from the canon and failed to live up to the high standard set by the original Harry Potter books and movies. The story relied too heavily on time travel as a narrative device. The characters and their motivations seemed poorly developed. All in all, the published version of the script felt more like bad fan fiction than the continuation of the canon story.

That's why Wizarding World fans got worried when Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav hinted at new Harry Potter sequels produced by the company in partnership with J.K. Rowling. Few fans want to see The Cursed Child being adapted for the big screen. Nevertheless, it is a strong possibility. So fans took to Reddit to discuss what could be changed in the book that would make it worth adapting.

In Case You Missed It, This Harry Potter Character's Backstory Is Seriously Intense

One comment was not only the most liked but also contained the best idea for the book and a potential movie or series.

"I would keep the title but make it about Tom Riddle and his journey to Lord Voldemort," the author of the comment wrote.

Other fans couldn't help but agree that this idea was the best. The Cursed Child can't be made better by making small changes. It needs to be totally rewritten. And the backstory of Tom Riddle aka Lord Voldemort is the perfect theme interesting to the audience.

Since the publishing of The Half-Blood Prince where Rowling delves into Tom Riddle's family's story and the rise to power, fans wished Riddle's storyline was explored in a movie or a series. They even created a YouTube film titled Voldemort: Origins of the Heir that does exactly that.

Maybe the time has come to adapt the story of the Dark Lord for the big screen. It would definitely be a better option than adapting the hated Cursed Child.
