He’s not the first to do so.

The highly anticipated remake of 1994 The Crow, starring Bill Skarsgård, is still a couple of months away from finally hitting cinemas worldwide, though it’s already completely crashed by the original movie’s director and, ironically, its main actor too.

Following Alex Proyas’ harsh statements about the reboot that blew the media up earlier this year, Skarsgård also seems to have a very controversial opinion about The Crow now that he’s had some time to distance himself from his eerie character.

Ahead of the film’s premiere in August, the actor opened up about his true feelings towards the upcoming movie right after he got to see the final cut. According to Skarsgård, he was genuinely unsatisfied with The Crow’s ending which presumably may leave fans wondering whether a sequel will eventually follow, stating that he “personally preferred something more definitive.”

The actor later on gave no other examples of the film’s details that he would like to change, though interviewer Madison Vain made a peculiar observation about Skarsgård’s face visibly brightening once he switches from discussing The Crow to his other exciting project this year, Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu.

The brand new reboot directed by Rupert Sanders and also starring singer FKA Twigs as the lead character’s fiancee Shelly Webster has got all the heat ever since it was initially announced.

The original movie’s director Alex Proyas has recently revealed that he saw the final cut as well and thought it was horrible and just impossible to watch. Before giving such an update on the remake, Proyas slammed Sunders’ The Crow for blatant encroachment upon Brandon Lee’s legacy that no other actor would ever be able to outperform.

Just like its predecessor, the upcoming film will be released with an R rating that points out its extremely violent sequences.

The Crow is coming to theaters worldwide on August 23.
