The Boys ’ Annie January, aka Starlight, is the embodiment of hope and righteousness in a world of corrupt superheroes. But have you ever been in a room where whispers of underestimation buzz around like annoying flies? Well, Starlight from The Boys knows that feeling all too well.
With her ability to emit blinding light and manipulate electricity, she’s far from being a pushover. But, despite her powers, she’s often underestimated, especially when compared to some heavy hitters of The Seven. Many fans generally agree that Starlight isn’t as powerful.
But hold on. It seems like our girl might get a chance in season 4 to prove she’s not the weakling some think she is. A Reddit user has recently suggested an intriguing idea. If the Boys have to take down Victoria Neuman in the upcoming season, that’s where Starlight might truly shine.
Victoria Neuman is a congresswoman with a secret. On the surface, she’s an anti-supe activist, fighting against Vought's corporate agenda. But, as the series unfolds, we discover that she’s a supe herself, known as the Head-Popper for her ability to make people’s heads, well, pop.
As the series progresses, a confrontation between the Boys and Neuman seems more and more inevitable. The Reddit discussion speculates about a face-off between Starlight and Neuman. The original poster suggests that Starlight might have what it takes to stand up to Neuman’s deadly abilities.
Starlight is believed to be a relatively weak supe, meanwhile, Neuman is definitely a very powerful one. Some fans are even convinced that she might be able to pop Homelander’s head. It would just require more time to do it. So how does Starlight even have a chance against her?
Well, if you paid attention, you might have noticed that Neuman needed to look at her victims in order to pop their heads. And what can Starlight do? Right, she can blind people with light using her powers. If they are really going to have a confrontation, Starlight’s abilities really do seem like a perfect counter to Neuman’s powers.
Fans hope season 4 of The Boys will do justice to Starlight and allow her to show what she’s really capable of.
