The Boys' Spin-off Series GEN V Just Got Infinitely Better With New Star Attached
Fans go wild over Clancy Brown joining The Boysverse.
"This spin-off just got even more interesting," a fan commented after One Take News reported that Clancy Brown could become part of The Boys spinoff Gen V. If the rumors are true, Brown will be joining an already epic cast including Alexander Calvert, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, and others.
Clancy Brown is a renowned and beloved actor with one of the most iconic voices in Hollywood. The fingers on both hands are not enough to count all the epic roles he played, starting with The Kurgan in Highlander and ending with Kurt Caldwell in Dexter: New Blood, which is also a spinoff of the popular series. His role in the Dexter spinoff made fans even more excited about the news.
"King of spinoffs. He was the best part of the Dexter spinoff," a fan opined on Twitter.
Of course, Clancy Brown is not only the king of spinoffs but also the emperor of franchises. Brown portrayed multiple characters in the MCU, the most recent being Ray Schoonover in two Netflix shows, Daredevil and The Punisher. Similarly, the actor played and voiced many roles in the Star Wars franchise and numerous DC projects. Brown's most significant roles were probably Hadley in The Shawshank Redemption and Sgt. Zim in Starship Troopers, but the all-time fans-favorite is definitely Mr. Krabs in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise.
Reddit's Unpopular Opinion on Butcher is Brutal but Completely Accurate
For the time being, it is not known which character Brown will play in Gen V. One Take News wrote that the actor will appear in at least one episode with the potential for more, which made fans speculate about his possible roles.
"Epic. Hope he plays a good guy for a change but I doubt they will go that route," a fan wrote on Twitter.
It is indeed very unlikely that Clancy Brown will play a good character since the majority of his iconic roles include bad guys. Some fans wondered if Brown only got a cameo in the spinoff.
"He'll probably be the principal or one of the parents but I love this anyway," another fan commented.
Others thought of the comics characters Brown could be a perfect fit for.
"Wonder if he's Professor Pedo [Godolkin] since the spinoff is based on this arc," the next commenter added.
There's a good chance Brown could play Professor Godolkin, an evil homage to Charles Xavier, since the R-rated series will focus on the college for supes run by Vought International. The showrunners promise the series will be a combination of a classic college show and Hunger Games. Sounds perfect, right?
