Why was it actually bad that they got rid of Translucent early in the show?

Fans of the Amazon’s hit TV show The Boys are eagerly anticipating its fourth season. Even though we don't know exactly when it's coming out, we've got a bit of time to chat about the characters that really stuck with us from the past seasons.

On Reddit, many fans got into it and talked about Translucent, the superhero who could go invisible. They're saying he should've hung around in the show for a bit longer, and honestly, it's hard to disagree.

Some fans pointed out that Translucent's invisibility made him a great spy. Imagine the secrets he could uncover. But, as one user humorously noted, instead of using his powers for world-changing espionage, he was more interested in sneaking into bathrooms and chasing after money.

There's a consensus among some fans that Translucent had to be the first to go because he was just too overpowered. With his ability to turn completely invisible, he would have been a formidable opponent for many characters.

But as one fan pointed out, if he stuck around, the show might have had to come up with some plot-convenient reasons for his invisibility, which could have been annoying.

If you want a little reminder about what happened to Translucent, well, he got blown up by the “ass bomb.” Even though he only showed up in a couple of episodes, he definitely left an impression.

Many fans also point out that the actor who played him, Alex Hassell, was a spot-on choice for the role. It's impressive how a character who spent most of his screen time invisible could leave such a lasting impression.

Some fans expressed disappointment that Translucent didn't have more on-screen interactions with other major characters like Homelander, The Deep, or Black Noir. It would have been interesting to see how these interactions played out.

One user brought up an interesting point about characters with "all or nothing" powers. These are powers that are either incredibly effective or completely useless, depending on the situation.

One thing is for sure, Translucent proved it's not about how long a character stays, but the impact they leave behind.
