What’s the fun knowing everything beforehand?

While the world is waiting for The Boys season 4 to be released, there's plenty of time to speculate about what it will be about. However, it's not the general plot that fans are most interested in, but rather one particular aspect of the new season.

The thing is, ever since the show was first released, it has become something of a tradition to announce the next season's new villain. Sure, we have Homelander as the main antagonist, but every new season brings a newcomer who really steals the show.

For example, after the season 1 finale, it was revealed that Stormfront was coming to create chaos. After that, it was revealed that the main villain of the next season would be Victoria Neuman.

But nothing quite like that happened after the end of season 3, except we got introduced to Soldier Boy (who wasn’t really a villain, at least not more than anyone else on the show).

That means only two things: either the new anti-hero is already in the movie, or the villain is still to appear and is kept a secret. Well, fans think the latter is more likely.

There’s a theory that the new villain is going to be… Hughie's mother. Why is that? Well, we know that Rosemarie DeWitt has been cast to play this character. And the theory also suggests that she might be a Supe. But she could also be a villainous Supe, who will do everything to make the Boys’ lives even harder.

Well, at first this may seem rather unrealistic, but if we think about it, this choice actually makes sense.

For one thing, The Boys has built a legacy on pop culture parodies, mocking superhero franchises and other high-profile projects. Given how common the parent-turned-villain trope is in the culture, it would be hilarious to see The Boys tackle it.

Do you think Hughie's mother would make a worthy villain?
