The Boys Season 3 Made One Mistake Fans Fear Would Transmit to Season 4
Despite the overwhelmingly positive response to the third season, there is a concern in the fandom that the initial charm of the show is starting to wear off.
The Boys season 3 enjoys a 98% critics score and a 83% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, seemingly improving over the seasons, even though fans always have something to complain about. However, one big concern remains in the fandom as it awaits for chapter 4 and analyzes the mistakes season 3 has made on the way.
One such mistake, fans believe, is how the show is starting to get fragmentated. It seems to no longer be about a group of powerless people making sure they win over the superheroes due to strategical thinking, slowly turning into a bunch of separate storylines.
Basically, what fans have been missing in season 3 is "clever supe-fighting strategies executed by normal people", but now that "normal people" have received an opportunity to become superheroes themselves, it has all changed. Chances are it will continue to evolve into something that does not necessarily fall in line with things fans love The Boys for in the first place.
Now that the show is heading into season 4, fans fear that The Boys will basically delve too much into the "science fiction" or "typical superhero" thing. According to the fandom, showrunners need to be a lot more careful with Hughie and Butcher enjoying their temporary superhero powers.

With plot details for season 4 still kept under wraps, there is still a chance that the upcoming new chapter will be just as good as the previous ones. The show is currently in the middle of filming, so it's possible we will see new episodes at some point in 2023, even though the official release date is yet to be scheduled by Amazon.
