The Boys Leaked On-Set Footage Confirms a Major S4 Plot Twist
It seems that the protagonists will get an unlikely ally who finally decides to change sides.
Summary:
- The fourth season of The Boys is currently in production and will be released in a few months
- Fans are expecting the main storyline to finally take a drastic turn and bring the fight against Homelander to the next level
- New leaked on-set footage seems to confirm an earlier leak that The Boys would get an unlikely ally against the strongest supe
It's been almost two years since the third season of The Boys ended on July 8, 2022, and even though fans of the show got a spectacular Gen V spinoff in 2023 to help ease the wait, they're still eagerly awaiting the next chapter of the main story.
Luckily, it won't be long until the fourth season of the series is out, as it's already in production and steadily approaching its release date.
Fans Expect Tension to Rise in Season 4
The show's creators have a huge responsibility on their shoulders, as it has been quite some time since the main storyline of the titular vigilante team's long-running battle with Homelander has seen any significant development.
Although season 3 featured a direct confrontation between them on equal footing after Butcher and Hughie upgraded themselves with V24, many fans feel that it is time for more drastic measures to be taken, so expectations for season 4 are pretty high.
And it looks like the story is definitely heading in that direction, as new leaked on-set footage confirms an earlier leak that The Boys will be getting an unlikely supe ally, at least temporarily.
Beware of spoilers ahead.
Vought HQ, known for their leaks about the show, many of which eventually turned out to be true, reported that Hughie would be saved from Homelander at some point by none other than A-Train, and this behind-the-scenes clip seems to show precisely that scene.
It’s About Time A-Train Switched Sides
Though their relationship has been extremely shaky since Hughie joined the team after A-Train accidentally killed his girlfriend, there have been hints of a possible redemption arc in the future.
During the events of season 2, the speedster provided The Boys with crucial information about Stormfront, even though he was acting out of his own self-interest.
Over the course of season 3, he is constantly berated and threatened by Homelander, and slowly begins to realize just how unhinged the strongest supe actually is, and it seems that this will cause him to switch sides in season 4.
However, fans believe that this will also mark the end of the character, as the chances of A-Train surviving after openly defying Homelander are next to nothing.
The first three episodes of The Boys season 4 are scheduled to premiere on June 13, 2024.
