Every TV show, no matter how good it is, tends to have some stronger episodes as well as some weaker ones. Some of them should have been filler episodes to begin with, just to get the audience used to the characters and the world they exist in, while others just turned out to be less impressive on film than they seemed on paper.
Either way, this difference in episode quality is what makes it completely understandable to have some favorites. Some fans may even go so far as to rewatch only those episodes as a means of seeking comfort after a long and stressful day.
Just like the viewers, the cast and crew have moments that they personally cherish more than others. Whether it's a major character milestone or just a little behind-the-scenes detail that made it special, it's always fun to find out what those moments are. Even if most of the fandom would disagree.
In Which Episode Did Sheldon and Amy Sleep Together?
When Mayim Bialik was asked by USA Today about her favorite moment on the show, she chose a very special moment between Sheldon Cooper and her character, Ammy Farrah Fowler, in the season 9 episode The Opening Night Excitation.
“It was really special for how veiled it was. We took something so monumental for Sheldon and this relationship and did not have it be a vulgar episode or really even a highly comedic episode. That was really special for me,” the actress shared.
Sheldon's sexuality and how he identifies has always been a point of discussion among fans. Part of this had to do with the fact that Jim Parsons, who portrayed the character on the show, is an openly gay man, but also with the way the topic was handled within the sitcom.
Starting as hypersexual in the pilot, Sheldon was then made to be very averse to any romantic gestures and physical intimacy. It took about 3 years for Amy and Sheldon to kiss, which already disappointed a part of the fanbase, and then another 2 years to take it to bed.
The moment was nothing but sweet, but some viewers refused to accept that Sheldon would ever do that. This reasoning, mixed with a general hatred of Amy's character, made Mayim Bialik's most treasured memory from the show also the most controversial among viewers.
